DAVE LEE THE ACTOR

Dave Lee started his career as a drummer / singer and had several records released (well escaped!) and then went on to form his own comedy show band as lead singer / impressionist.

It was a chance meeting with Eric Morecambe that changed Dave's life forever. Eric watched Dave performing with his group and advised him to start a solo career as a comedian / actor in his own right!

He began his TV career as a warm up man for Michael Parkinson, Michael Aspel and Jimmy Tarbuck, after this Dave appeared in front of the cameras in his own right on: Des O Connor Tonight, The Generation Game, Celebrity Squares, A Royal Gala for HRH Prince Charles, Live from the Palladium, The Brian Conley Show, Big Break, Only Joking, Davro on the Box, Des and Mel and recently hosting is own golfing series Through The Green, plus many more.

Dave has also been nominated in the British Comedy Awards.

Numerous Radio Appearances including his own programme The Fat Bloke Show.

Over the Past 25 years Dave has worked in Pantomime in major UK venues playing a variety of leading roles.

Dave was awarded the MBE for his work with "Dave Lee's Happy Holidays" a charity that he set up to send sick, disabled and disadvantaged children and their immediate families who live in Kent on a holiday. Dave is very proud that no one in the charity is paid.

He was also voted "Today's Hero for Kent" by listeners of Capital Gold radio.

Sir John Mills once said: "To succeed in comedy you need impeccable timing and Dave Lee has just that."

Dave is kept busy with fund raising for his charity and he is also Patron of the Canterbury Prisoners Visitor Centre, the RSPCA Isle of the Thanet Branch, Friends of the Marlowe Theatre Canterbury and a non-excecutive director of Gillingham Football Club. He is also proud to be a member of the Grand Order Of Water Rats.

He has also travelled the world entertaining our troops - The Falkland Islands, Bosnia, Northern Ireland, Cyprus, Gibraltar, Macedonia and Germany plus many in the UK.

Most of his professional work is taken up with after dinner speaking, stand up tours, pantomimes and television and radio appearences.
